Women’s Rights in Afghanistan
Thesis: While the US and many developed countries much of freedom and equality, there are many victims out in the Middle East who experience lack of justice and rights to protect themselves from violence. The biggest group to have the disadvantages is to be the women, and there are many things which not only harass them but actually threat their lives that we must recognize and provide solutions immediately.
I. Attention-getter: “Government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Abraham Lincoln’s famous speech at Gettysburg Address strongly emphasizes the importance of healthy relationships between the government and its people. Without guaranteed individual’s freedom and independence, there would be no stability or justice in the country. The human rights violence in Middle East, particularly Afghanistan, Sudan, and Darfur, has gone worsen under the influence of Taliban, and it is especially the women who suffer to go through all the challenges. Reason? Just because they are born to be women.
A. We, habitants of US, easily forget the importance of freedom and what is happening currently in many other countries. Many of us don’t even recognize the current situations in many other countries.
1. Most of the countries that experience difficulties maintaining stable governments are also having serious economic hardships as well; therefore, they never can stand on their own to provide the solutions to the problems.
2. The rest of the countries aren’t paying much attention and it leads to the lack of funding for supporting women and youngsters who are suffering while experiencing inequalities.
3. It is time to go back to Lincoln and his people’s minds. What are we missing and how can we prevent and offer solutions to the other countries which, unfortunately, experiencing many corrupted justice situations.
B. Many of them are not recognizing their rights. The law is corrupted and the people, particularly males, aren’t providing enough support to keep the women in proper positions in the society with portection.

IV. What actually causes the human rights violence to go on?
A. Law
1. There are no laws such that protects the women from being harmed by males.
2. It is always the males who get the advantages and benefits when it comes to speak justice. The females often get threats or punishments even if they are innocent or victimized.
B. Social Custom
1. The long history of harassing women keeps the others, even women, to get away from the laws and customs, such as wearing clothes that cover their entire body and talking to men, and without breaking the corrupted rules the revolution for their protection the idea of preserving rights for women is not even possible to dream.
C. Lacking Supports
1. There are many organizations, such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, but the supports are lacking, therefore there is no one, no movement that will bring any changes into the society in the Middle East.
2. The situations get better, when the women and men are better educated with understanding of human rights and equality.
3. The government first has to be set up democratic, and the possibility that current situation would change is not that much. It is either the countries have conferences or have a war to prepare for all the needs.
V. Why the Rights have to be protected? (The importance)
A. To prevent further harms within the country and spreading of the bad customs to the other countries
B. Can we blame humans?
1. Maybe, but it doesn’t solve the problem.

VIII. Conclusion – While it is important to for the world to get involved and stop the killing, it is even more important to try to focus on solutions having to do with climate change.
